The Springfield Farmers’ Market began in 2010 in Downtown Springfield with the
assistance of Springfield on the Move. Within several years, the growth of
the Market made it necessary to find a larger space. Thanks to the generosity
Bob Flint and the SRDC, the Market was able to relocate to its present home
on Clinton Street in the grassy area at the head of the Toonerville Trail.
The Springfield Farmers’ Market is a 501 c-4 incorporated action charity. It is run
entirely by volunteers, which means vendor fees remain extremely low.
Any earnings that accrue to the Market are distributed at the end of the season
to local community service and charitable groups.
The Springfield Farmers’ Market is a member of the Springfield Regional Chamber
of Commerce.
The Market is also a long-time participant in the Vermont Farm-to-Family coupon
program, in which vendors work with qualified participants in that program to
provide highest quality fresh produce at exceptionally reasonable prices.
The Outdoor Market opens for the season on the first Saturday in June, and
continues each Saturday until the VT Apple Fest in October, which is the last
outdoor market of the season.
The only weekend without an outdoor market is the 3rd Saturday in June, when
the space becomes part of the Springfield Alumni Weekend celebrations.
All Markets run from 10 AM till 1 PM, except for VT Apple Fest, which runs from 9
AM till 4 PM.
